Sarah Payne's Slice of Cake Quilt Pattern - DIGITAL DOWNLOAD

This pattern makes use of a type of pre-cut fabric bundle called a layer cake. This is a bundle of fabrics that have been pre cut into 10 inch squares and can contain between 20 and 42 squares, depending on the supplier. This pattern uses a 20 piece set and I have used my own range British Waterways by Craft Cotton Company.

If you do not have a pre-cut layer cake, you can cut your own 10 inch squares to make this quilt. You can also make it bigger by adding more blocks. This is a simple quilt to make and the layer cake means there is less cutting to do and therefore it is quicker to put together.

Requirements:

20 piece layer cake or 10 fat quarter pieces.

40 cm of fabric for binding.

Backing fabric - at least 40 x 50 inches.

Wadding - at least 40 x 50 inches.

In addition, you will need threads for piecing and quilting.
