Free Motion Quilting for the Terrified - Online Interactive Workshop with Sarah Payne 22nd January 2025
This is my most popular in person class, so I have decided to take it online so more of you can join in from home, on your own sewing machine.
What will I learn?
You will learn basic tips and tricks to start you on your free motion quilting journey. You didn't learn to drive in a day, and you won't learn free motion in a day either. But I can take the fear out of it and set you on your way. You will learn how to prepare your machine, tools that can make it easier to control your quilt, as well as see how to prepare your quilt. Most importantly, you will learn, and practice, some great free motion designs.
Where is it?
The class is an online interactive workshop, so you will need access to the internet (through a smart phone or a computer). If you wish to be seen, you will need a webcam, but you can choose to not be in vision if you wish. The event will also be recorded, and then uploaded to a private area of YouTube within 48 hours, and you will be able to access it for 12 months. That way, you can rewatch it at your leisure.
When is it?
Join me on a live zoom class on Wednesday 22nd of January 2025 at 7pm for 2 1/2 hours of learning. Dont worry if you cant attend, I will be recording the LIVE and giving you access for a further 12 months with 48 hours of the live event.
Lets face it - what else will you be doing on a wet Wednesday in January?
What do I need?
- A clean sewing machine with a new needle.
- Make sure you have a free motion foot on your sewing machine. Check your sewing machine manual to see how your particular machine does free motion quilting. Dont worry if you get stuck, you can message me through my website before the class.
- a 14 - 18 inch quilt sandwich. This will be a top piece of fabric, a layer of wadding and a piece of backing fabric. It does not matter what fabrics you choose, because this is a practice piece, though plain colours are better than patterns. Just raid you fabric stash for something you dont mind using.
- Patience!
